After nearly 20 years in the industry, working in studios, performing, selling gear and managing brands, I’ve experienced this disconnect first hand. Whether I was buying new equipment or helping launch a product, I kept asking: Why is this the right product for me? That fundamental question is rarely answered in most marketing strategies.
Cadence Solutions was created to fill that gap. We’re a marketing agency built by musicians for audio and music tech brands. Our mission is to help companies speak directly, authentically and meaningfully to their audience.
Take multi-effects pedals, for example. While traditionally marketed to guitarists, many bedroom producers and studio engineers use them creatively for mixing or sound design. Yet this use case is rarely reflected in campaigns.

At Cadence Solutions, we understand your products and your audience because we are your audience: musicians, DJs, audio engineers and producers.
My journey began as a DJ in Melbourne, where I became fascinated with sound systems, signal flow and sonic texture. That curiosity led me to study Audio Engineering and Sound Production at SAE, then work across Melbourne studios, eventually diving deep into electronic music production.
Later, I pursued a degree in Contemporary Classical Music at Monash University, where I explored how the studio itself could function as a musical instrument.
As the studio landscape shifted, with more creators working from home and fewer traditional studios, I moved into the music retail space. Having worked in retail since I was 16, the transition felt natural. What drew me in further was brand management: educating store staff and customers about pro audio and music tech quickly became a passion.
Starting in product support at a distributor, I eventually grew into a brand manager role. That’s where I noticed something crucial: profit was often prioritised over product education. Customers walked in knowing what they wanted but not always what they needed and no one asked them. I did.
I was fortunate to work with brands such as Avid Technologies, RME, Teenage Engineering, Elektron, 1010Music and Melbourne Instruments.
That deeper dialogue, understanding the creator’s and brand’s real needs, became the foundation of Cadence Solutions.
